Abstract. Elliptical vibration cutting (EVC), as a precision machining technology, is used in many applications. In machining, control accuracy plays an essential role improving the machinability of difficult-to-machine materials. To improve accuracy, dynamic and static characteristics system need to be tuned obtain optimal parameters. this paper, we use glowworm algorithm with improved adaptive step size tune parameters robust fuzzy controller. We then controller through simulation. The solution applied 3D EVC model for simulation closed-loop testing experiments. results indicate that good agreement between ideal curve tracking signal verifies optimality Finally, under certain conditions, workpieces three different materials are cut two methods. study revealed surface roughness value reduced by 20 %–32 %, which further effectiveness controller's
